15 things I want to do this year

New Year's resolutions are something I never stick to and often within weeks if not days I forget what they even are. I thought that through writing here publicly on my blog my resolutions, places I want to visit and things I want to accomplish and do, it will serve as a nice reminder that I can look back on through the year. I really feel like 2017 is going to be a good year, full of fantastic memories!!
  1. Exercise - there was a stage in 2016 where I exercised 4-5 time a week and I felt amazing and then everything got on top of me and I pushed working out to one side and kept saying i'll do it tomorrow, as cliche as it sounds this year I want to work out more. I don't want it to be a fad but for it to be part of my lifestyle, a more active lifestyle. I know from experience exercise gives me more energy and makes me feel good!
  2. Make time to read more - I really want to start reading every night before I go to bed to help me relax and get a better night sleep.
  3. Sleep more - lately my sleeping pattern has been all over the place, I tend to fall asleep at 2 am and then wake up for work at 7 am. I really want to get myself into a good healthy sleeping schedule and stick to it.
  4. Eat healthier - I always feel better when I eat clean and this year I really want to make healthy eating a big part of my life.
  5. This summer I really want to go to my first festival.
  6. Be more spontaneous.
  7. Go to Harry Potter World.
  8. Travel more - I plan to travel whether that is by myself or with my friends and family, I really want to get out there and see the world. So far I have booked a trip to Paris and Bali is definitely on my bucket list.
  9. Treat myself - I work hard for my money and often I forget to treat myself and buy something I really want, so this year I plan to save up and buy a designer bag or pair of shoes that I have had my eye on!
  10. Take more time to be thankful.
  11. Show more passion for things I believe in.
  12. This year I want to do more charity work, not just through donating money but through giving my time and energy to charities I love.
  13. Take part in a colour run.
  14. Pass my driving test.
  15. Show more dedication to my blog - in September 2016 I started my blog, it was something different and unlike anything I have ever done before. I have really enjoyed my experience in the blogging community and in 2017 I have big plans to be more dedicated to posting.
Be sure to let me know what you are hoping to achieve this year, I would love to know.

Best wishes,

Tarte tartelette in bloom Palette - Review

This palette is pretty much all I have been wearing on my eyes for the last few months, so I thought it was finally time to review it. I will start with the price to get that out of the way, this palette retails at £36 and contains 12 shadows - 9 matte shades and 3 shimmers. I am completely blown away by the gorgeous gold packaging, which comes with the most amazing mirror. The shadows blend well and are very pigmented the only shade which I am slightly disappointed with is Firecracker, simply because I don't feel like it is as pigmented as I was expecting.
(Shades from left to right- Leader, Charmer, Jetsetter, Rocker, Smokeshow, Flower Child, Smarty Pants, Firecracker, Activist, Funny Girl, Sweetheart, Rebel)

My favourite thing about this palette is the variety of shades, it really does cover all bases. You can create simple everyday looks or create a more dramatic evening look. Rebel and Leader have probably been the two shadows I have been reaching for the most to create a smoky look.

Have you tried this palette? If so be sure to let me know what you think in the comment section below!

2016 Beauty Favourites

In 2016 I have discovered so many beauty products that I have fallen in love with and know that I will be using and repurchasing for years to come. I though I would share with you my 2016 favourites.
As far as hair products go my staple products have been the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque, this masque makes my hair so unbelievably soft, I use this once or twice a week and it is simply amazing. When it come to styling my hair I have been curling my hair with the Mark Hill curling wands, Mark Hill is defiantly my favourite brand for electrical styling products.
For skin care there are 3 stand out products that have become real staples in my skincare routine. First up is the Clinique Moisture Surge Moisturiser, this is a more recent discovery but it is by far the best moisturiser I have ever used. The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is another product I can't get enough of, this little bottle is pure magic! It clears up my skin and gets rid of all of my spots, incredible!! The lip balm I am obsessed with is the Nuxe Lip Balm, it makes my lips so soft and keeps them moisturised.
Moving onto makeup products, the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation has been one of my all times favourites it is the perfect everyday foundation. The Benefit Pro-fessional Primer works wonders at reducing the size of my pores and helps my foundation stay on all day. The NYX HD Concealer is incredible at brightening your under eyes, the quality of the product is insane. More recently I picked up the Benefit Cheekathon Palette which I love so much, Benefit is one of my favourite brands for blush and bronzer so having them in this convenient little pallet is a dream come true!! As far as highlighter goes Becca Champaign Pop is the winner for me, it lives up to all the hype from social media. This year I discovered the Spectrum makeup brushes, the quality of these brushes is incredible, and they are a cruelty free brand which is an added bonus.
There are two eye shadow palettes that I have been obsessed with this year and that has to be the Tarte in Bloom Palette and the Wet n Wild Walking on Egg Shells Trio, I love everything about these palettes from the quality of the shadows to the insane colour pay-off. Benefit Roller Lash is by far the best mascara I have ever used, I know I will be purchasing it for years to come. In 2016 I also discovered my love for the Red Cherry Lashes and the NYX Brow Contour, both really great products that I highly recommend.
If you have read some of my other blog posts then you can probably guess which lip products I use all the time. Since NYX has become easier to get a hold of in the UK I have enjoyed trying out all of their products, but the NYX Liquid Suede's and the Lip Creams are on a whole other level, there are so many amazing shades to choose from!

Let me know what your favourite product of 2016 has been. I wish you all the best in 2017.

Lots of love,
